RED is the new sports streaming platform recently launched by Ringier Sports in partnership with Cleeng and the full Subscriber Retention Management (SRM™) suite.
Through this collaboration, RED is providing fans of Swiss football with unparalleled access to their favourite content.
What is RED.Sport?
Earlier this year, Ringier Sports launched a new multi-sport streaming platform. The company’s vision for RED.Sport was to provide amateur sports players and fans a broad range of high quality content on a wide-reaching platform.
With this recent launch, Swiss football fans now have access to highly anticipated matches from both the Promotion League and 1st League Classic, all available as a full HD live stream, in one place with no traditional Pay TV package required.
To manage its GAMEPASS subscription options, RED has decided to partner with Cleeng. Thanks to our modular range of services, we have been able to devise a tailor-made solution for RED.Sport, covering the following elements.
How does RED.Sport use Cleeng’s subscriber retention suite?
360 degree view of the customer base
Cleeng is providing the best possible support for the platform at launch with a full suite of Subscriber Retention Management (SRM™) tools and services.
This gives Ringier Sports a transparent 360-degree view of everything from content offerings to billing and analytics to customer support all of which can be managed from a single source - a central point of control for all elements of subscription management.
This greatly simplifies the challenges of subscription management, allowing Ringier Sports to focus on their video content, instead of on the complexities of a video platform.
Flexible offer creation
Innovating with content monetization strategies is critical to increased profitability with an OTT platform. Of course, there is no simple answer here, but ensuring that you have the right approach to pricing can mean the difference between success and failure. The most popular models for pricing sports streaming services are SVOD, Transactional PPV and Season Passes.
Fortunately, Cleeng’s subscription management system allows Ringier to experiment with multiple offer types simultaneously. This might include playing around with different pricing models such as subscriptions versus season passes or PPV. Or testing out different discount coupons of varying amounts and durations.
All of this is accessible in one space (our broadcaster dashboard) making it easier than ever to find the perfect offer for your audience.

Personalized support
With the personal touch that Cleeng’s service provides, Ringier Sports will also receive our expert guidance on their subscription platform, to ensure a seamless experience for both them and their subscribers.
“The Cleeng team are absolute professionals; they know exactly what their product can achieve and how it can be adapted to meet the requirements of RED. Through their personalized support, we’re getting expert assistance for the RED platform to guarantee a seamless experience for our subscribers.”, says Alain D. Birchler, Subscription Project Manager of Ringier Sports.
A word from the CEOs
Speaking about the platform launch and collaboration with Cleeng, Alexander Grimm, CEO of Ringier Sports AG said, “The GAMEPASS subscription model is a key factor in the RED project, and we put a lot of emphasis on the user experience, which starts with the login and subscription area on the platform. That's why we at RED are very happy to have the support of Cleeng for the complex issue of our management and subscription.»
Additionally, Gilles Domartini, CEO and founder of Cleeng, had this to say about the new partnership: “We are thrilled to be working with Ringier Sports. We look forward to supporting the innovative RED platform by sharing our unique focus on Media & Entertainment and removing the complexities of OTT sports video with the combination of our operational and analytical product suite.”
How can I access RED.Sport?
Access to the new RED.Sport streaming service is available via a GAMEPASS subscription which offers monthly subscription costs CHF 12.90, or annually for CHF 89.90 (with a limited current offer for CHF 59.90). In return, the user can view over 1,500 hours of live soccer per season.
